Who We Are

Ali Maisam Nazary, Founder & Managing Partner

Ali Maisam Nazary is the Founder and Managing Partner of Vantage Frontier Group. He is an international affairs professional, diplomat, and strategist with more than a decade of experience in foreign relations, geopolitical risk, strategic communications, and high level engagement across North America, Europe, the Middle East, South Asia, and Central Asia.

He currently serves as Head of Foreign Relations for the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan, where he leads international outreach, diplomatic engagement, public advocacy, and strategic communications in support of a democratic, pluralistic, decentralized, and rights based Afghanistan.

His work has placed him at the intersection of diplomacy, security, policy, media, and regional politics, with a focus on Afghanistan and its surrounding regional system, Central Asia, South Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and transatlantic affairs.

Regional and Strategic Focus

Nazary’s regional focus includes Afghanistan, Central Asia, South Asia, the Middle East, and Europe.

His work examines the forces reshaping frontier regions, including terrorism, political instability, great power competition, artificial intelligence, advanced technologies, energy transition, critical minerals, rare earths, strategic metals, and supply chain disruption.

Through Vantage Frontier Group, he helps clients understand how politics, security, capital, technology, and regional influence intersect before making decisions with strategic, financial, legal, resource, or reputational consequences.

Global Engagement

Nazary has engaged with heads of state and government, senior officials, parliamentarians, diplomats, policy institutions, think tanks, media organizations, civil society leaders, private sector figures, and international institutions across multiple regions.

His work has included engagement in Washington, Paris, Brussels, London, Rome, Vienna, Copenhagen, Ottawa, Dushanbe, Dubai, Doha, New York, Oxford, Cambridge, Aspen, and Halifax.

These experiences have given him a practical understanding of how political decisions are shaped, how influence is built, and how institutions, investors, and public actors must navigate environments where formal authority and real power are often not the same.

Public Platforms and Media

Nazary has participated in leading international forums, including the Sedona Forum, Copenhagen Democracy Summit, Aspen Security Forum, Halifax International Security Forum, Herat Security Dialogue, the Vienna Process for a Democratic Afghanistan, Hudson Institute events, Oxford University discussions, Harvard Kennedy School engagements, and the Reagan National Defense Forum.

His analysis and commentary have appeared in or been featured by Foreign Affairs, The Washington Times, NPR, Fox News, CNN, The New York Times, BBC, France 24, C-SPAN, Lawfare, and other international media and policy platforms. He has also published analysis and opinion pieces in major policy outlets, including Foreign Affairs Magazine and The Washington Times.

Nazary has also contributed to academic work on regional integration, including a scholarly chapter titled “Cultural, Religious and Economic Integration: Future of Afghanistan-Pakistan Relations” in Pakistan-Afghanistan Relations: Pitfalls and the Way Forward.

Advisory Perspective

At Vantage Frontier Group, Nazary brings together geopolitical analysis, diplomatic judgment, regional knowledge, and trusted networks to advise selected clients operating in complex political and frontier market environments.

His advisory work focuses on political risk, strategic access, stakeholder engagement, frontier market strategy, political and reputational due diligence, crisis communications, counterterrorism, regional security, critical minerals, advanced technologies, and great power competition.

Vantage Frontier Group was created for a world in which business, diplomacy, security, technology, and public policy can no longer be separated.
